Gwynedd
Gwynedd is a county found in North West Wales , named after the old kingdom of Gwynedd and although it is one of the largest areas in Wales, it’s one of the least populated. The area covers most of the Snowdonia National Park and is bordered by the Irish Sea.
Natural attractions can be discovered and explored throughout the region, towering, mountains, lakes, rivers and waterfalls, sleepy valleys, a wealth of forests and miles of golden sandy beaches. Man-made attractions include the imposing castles such as Caernarfon and Penrhyn, the Welsh Highland railway and the industrial archaeology. The picturesque seaside towns with their attractive harbours, bobbing boats and maritime activities make a lovely day out. In the area there is also Mount Snowdon, which is involved in the three peaks challenge, a popular hiking event. There are many museums and galleries to visit in Gwynedd but it offers a fantastic, relaxing and peaceful holiday destination.
